Glass Battles - Pfeiffer
Glass Battles began like any good romance began. Craigslist. Starting as a pet project between singer/producers Tanya Dahl and Sean Augustine, Glass Battles has evolved into something much bigger than it began as. Their capability to expand their synth-pop sound came from meeting now permanent band members bassist Ash Black, drummer Joshua Paris and guitarist Albert James. What started out as simple dance tunes for the Los Angeles club scene has now expanded into a harmonious blend of pop and rock with the same, high energy sensibilities as before. Their fearlessness can easily be attributed to the fact that they've taken care of every detail from the beginning as a collaborative, creative and business oriented outfit. Their currently recorded tracks are an homage to power bands such as Blondie, Human League, Duran Duran, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Garbage. “There’s really no stone left unturned creatively with us. We’ve begun the journey of putting together everything, including costuming, set pieces and details like song transitions for our live sets to create Glass Battles into something bigger then your normal band. https://rawartists.com/glassbattlesAugustine taught himself how to use 3D animation technology (thanks to “a million tutorials” online, he says) to create an otherworldly “space odyssey,” where the singer portrays himself as a space explorer making a journey toward self discovery on an alien planet.
Augustine tells Billboard that the experience, which included purchasing a green screen and shooting the entire video on his iPhone 8, helped him find some creative solace during a difficult time. “It felt relevant and I was able to make it something fun and exciting and a great escape,” he tells Billboard of his new video. “And I had an excuse to order an astronaut costume.”
