Started as synth music freaks and experimental musicians from Marburg an der Lahn in 2006, we have been creating unique synth pop sounds for our loyal fan base for many years now. Our electronic sound, complemented by cinematic elements, gives our music a shimmering, contrasting atmosphere. The songs from our repertoire are diverse and are written in German and English. The texts contain critical discussions of social issues, but also delicate love and life stories. Perfect for all sound lovers from bands like Depeche Mode, VNV Nation, Wolfsheim, Camouflage and many more, we offer a precise mix of captivating music, modern lyrics and a unique atmosphere.

BIOGRAPHY

WHAT IS WORTH WAITING FOR!
After the 3 brothers Sascha, Stephan and Thomas Viereck had gained some experience in various music projects, it was time to produce and publish music under a common banner in September 2006. It was the day of the great meeting of the Guardians. The judging eye on society and humanity was opened and with eXcubitors (Latin: Guardians) the medium was created to report on it! The boys have had their enthusiasm for synthesizers and atmospheric sounds for more than 80 years. With eXcubitors, the 3 Hessians have managed to create their very own synth-pop style, which is already inspiring many fans today with fantastic soundscapes, resounding and impressive beats as well as a very special emotional and honest socio-political note.

END OF 2007 “RESURRECTION FROM RUINS” THE DEBUT ALBUM
After an intensive year of work on their debut, eXcubitors celebrated their very personal “resurrection from the ruins” on December 7th, 2007. The album shines with 11 energetic, danceable but also quieter songs in a synth/electro-pop construct. Through their individual style and “thought-provoking”, honest messages, eXcubitors have managed to get stuck in the minds and ears of many people/fans/media and move them emotionally with “Resurrection from Ruins”. “Resurrection from Ruins” was received very positively by the press for a debut album. In 2008, eXcubitors also had the opportunity to present the album and their live qualities. The live shows generated great recognition and some new enthusiastic and loyal followers.

AM 30.04.2009 „OPERATION OBSERVATION“ DAS 2. ALBUM
The “all-pervading” eye opens again. The Guardians are back and present by far their best and most versatile album, which is peppered with fascinating synth sound worlds, driving and penetrating beats as well as mercilessly honest, socio-political messages. eXcubitors took their time with the production/creation of “Operation Observation” for over a year, which you can clearly feel and hear in terms of further development and fine-tuning. With “Operation Observation”, the successful club hit “Error in the System”, which was in the top ten of the GEWC charts for weeks, is also available on CD for the first time. In addition, Anne Goldacker (Obsc(y)re, Wintry) once again contributes her unique voice to the orchestral stroke of genius “Observation”. The renowned band “Lost Area” rounds off the entire work with their brilliant RMX for the club hit “Isolated”. With “Operation Observation” eXcubitors have outgrown themselves. Many fans will be able to enjoy a live show again in 2009. Among other things, the Elektroshokk festival in Adelsheim on April 17, 2009 and the Dungeon Open Air in Bargenstedt on July 10, 2009 have already been confirmed.

ON 12/22/2014 – RELEASE OF THE 3RD STUDIO ALBUM WITH THE TITLE WÄCHTER
The “guardians” around the two brothers Sascha and Stephan Viereck spent 5 long years observing and working on twelve electrifying and detailed songs in a slightly different synthpop style. The charismatic female voice on the album comes from Sascha's wife Annika, who is making her band debut and fits perfectly into the sound world of eXcubitors.

The sounds are catchy, atmospheric, individual and reflect the band's consistent development. eXcubitors sing about and celebrate the innovative 80s, which had a major influence on their musical work. This is also demonstrated by her own passionate interpretation of Phil Collins' legendary hit “In the air tonight”. The eye also covered current topics and asked the question of whether there is a man-made policy of reduction behind the Ebola virus. In addition, willpower, perseverance and the general confrontation with the finiteness of being are musically discussed. Especially as a young band, you need very thick skin in the rough music world so as not to let yourself get defeated.

You can tell in the new work from eXcubitors that a lot of passion has gone into it and that everything has been demanded of the electronic sound generators with great sophistication. The result is a whole range of electronic sound experiences - from rousing beats that stimulate the desire to dance to impressive, cinematic sounds that give you goosebumps.

With their 3rd studio album “Wächter” eXcubitors have created an interesting and mature album that represents a milestone in their music career. eXcubitors are not dead - on the contrary: they are more alive and more sonorous than ever before. The time has come...

AT THE END OF 2016 EXCUBITORS RETURN WITH A NEW SINGER
Ronny Strehmann has been with eXcubitors since the end of 2016 and we are pleased to welcome the Berliner. Next to Stephan he does a lot of our vocals. He brings his great voice as well as new ideas and a lot of know-how and talent to video production. In February 2017 the first new joint work called Proud Leaders was created. This marks the start of work on album number IV. The second release in 2017 is finally a German title called Unperson. Unperson and the official video were released on June 23, 2017.

IN 2018 RELEASE OF THE NEW ALBUM IN AETERNUM

At the end of 2018 there was another new gem from eXcubitors for cover music fans.
With THE POWER OF LOVE, a new interpretation of a well-known classic by Frankie goes to Hollywood, eXcubitors have also released a video just in time for Christmas.

IN 2019 3 NEW SINGLE RELEASES
The creative year 2019 gave eXcubitors fans 3 new songs.
With the medieval and dark-tinged COMMAND & CONQUER they started the new year 2019 with a dance anthem.
After that, a song in German was heard again for a long time.
The song ZEIT philosophizes about our lifetime at a slower pace - but with haunting sounds.
At the end of the year there was the dance hit THE BLUE LIGHTS , which is a memorial to the “cell phone generation”.

IN 2020 WORKING ON THE NEW ALBUM AND LIVE COMEBACK
This year we are working intensively on our 5th album and, above all, on our return to the stage. We plan to perform LIVE again at the end of the year - if the current Corona situation allows it. Of course, we will keep you up to date here and on Facebook.

END OF 2021 – RELEASE OF THE NEW ALBUM ANOTHER DIMENSION
On November 19th, 2021 our 5th album will see the light of day. This resulted in very successful singles such as STRANGER and I DONT CARE, which were well placed in the dance floor charts worldwide. The album impresses with very atmospheric danceable club beats in a synthpop guise and sasH's strongly developed warm voice carries the sound into the band's future.

2022,2023 – RELEASE OF 3 NEW SINGLES AND LIVE STAGE COMEBACK IN ERFURT
The eXcubitors remain productive and continue their course with the tracks AFTER US DIE SINTFLUT, SINNLOS and THIS IS THE WAY. Finally eXcubitors are back on stage and will present their unique sound to over 100 visitors in Erfurt at the Club from Hell. There are 11 more live performances scheduled throughout Germany in 2024.
