"Countach and Sunrise"... Is everything in the title?
Not quite. But indeed, in this EP, we're keeping it pretty down-to-earth because the message is crystal clear: sharing the joy of getting behind the wheel of a legendary and iconic car from the '80s and reliving the best moments of that inspiring era.
Sometimes the vibe is energetic and lively, echoing the accelerations of the beast, and at other times, we're literally cradled by the smoothness of a nostalgic cruise with evocative sonic ingredients.
It's all there: Italo disco, chilling synthwave vibes, the FM sounds of the DX7, and the energetic bass of an overdriven Oberheim...
Not to mention the electric guitars and a few solos that could just as well come straight from a 1986 Marshall.
So, once again, a journey to the edges of nostalgia, blending the past but strangely, decisively pointing towards the future.

Tenebro Disco

In the neon-lit dystopia of Highway Nights, where the city's pulse echoed with synthesized beats, a mysterious club emerged at the edge of the urban spraw: "Tenebro Disco". Its entrance concealed secrets as deep as the bass that reverberated through the desolate streets...
Introducing "Disco Tenebro", a three-track musical journey that begins with "Skullfonk" harmoniously blending contemporary electro influences with the unmistakable bass vibes of 80s outrun and rhythms reminiscent of 70s disco.
Indeed, this EP captures a unique fusion of eras, creating a sonic experience that transcends time.
One of the standout tracks, "Highway Nights", immerses listeners in the exhilarating atmosphere of driving down a Californian highway at sunrise, behind the wheel of a sports car. The song sums up the consequences of a wild night filled with dancing, passion and unbridled fun.
With its infectious rhythms, saturated guitars out of the heavy metal universe and evocative melodies, "Tenebro disco" transports you to a world where the lines between styles, but also between past and present, blur, creating a soundtrack quite unique in its kind and difficult to classify.
This EP is a sonic adventure that invites you to relive the magic of bygone eras with a modern twist.

Red moon

So here it is, the culmination of a chapter that's been close to my heart for a long time. I went back and put my own spin on some of the greatest themes from the 'Grendizer' anime soundtrack by the composer Shunsuke Kikuchi.
Had to condense those orchestral ideas to capture the 80s vibes and evoke my childhood feels. The result is a blend of my memories from the series, the emotions I felt, and the love I have for synthwave and darkwave for all the nostalgia and modern vibes they bring.
I know Grendizer, or Goldorak as they say in France, didn't hit the same in every country. I'm also curious to see how those unfamiliar with the series will react to these thematic masterpieces, or should I say... these anthems of kids born between 1975 and 1985.
The project goes by the name 'Red Moon,' because for the newcomers, the forces of Vega attacked when our moon turned red. The signal is given. Happy listening to all. Thanks to Go Nagai and Shunsuke Kikuchi.
Also, a heartfelt shoutout to Noam and Lionel Leroy for their versions of the various French openings. Unconsciously, this soundtrack built the sonic textures I use every day now.

The fury

THE FURY:
In the desolate heart of a forgotten town, a decrepit auto repair garage stood in eerie silence. Locals whispered tales of the PSYCHOTIC DRIVER who had once sought refuge there, driven mad by a sinister force. No one dared enter, for THE FURY of the mechanic's curse was said to be bound within.
One moonless night, a daring soul named VICTOR ventured into the DECAYING SANCTUARY.
The wind whispered sinister secrets as he entered, and a shiver crawled down his spine. His lantern flickered ominously, casting elongated shadows that danced like phantoms.
Suddenly, the air grew frigid, and a malevolent presence enveloped him. Victor glimpsed a grotesque figure lurking in the shadows, wielding a PHANTOM WRENCH.
The fury of the mechanic's wrath consumed him.
Desperation surged, and Victor ignited a pile of used motor oil, creating a FIERY DOME of protection. The inferno raged, illuminating the malevolent specter's twisted visage.
With a bloodcurdling scream, the entity dissipated into ashes, ending the curse that had plagued the town for generations.
Victor emerged, the garage now reduced to charred ruins, knowing he had conquered the demonic legacy, but forever haunted by the night he encountered the psychotic driver's vengeful spirit.

The year is 1985, and Death Racer's ghostly silhouette emerges from the swirling mists of the abandoned racetrack. Clad in a leather jacket adorned with spectral flames, and behind the wheel of a phantom muscle car that left trails of stardust, he roared into action on the Stellar Frontier. His mission: to save souls trapped in the cycle of greed and corruption that consumed New Arcadia.

This is the first release of 2023 for Jessy Mach who presents here a very accomplished EP where we can largely recognize his style inspired by 80s sounds.
The guitars are well present and the production always well polished. There are here and there, in the work of textures, atmospheres, themes and on the cover, many reminiscences of the 80's animated series.
Your body and your ears remain in 2023 but your soul runs away in 1982.
