The Great Filter
by Stoneburner

Stoneburner - Unleashes an Unprecedented Industrial Assault with "The Great Filter" EP

Industrial music enthusiasts, brace yourselves for an electrifying and thought-provoking experience as Stoneburner releases their highly anticipated EP, "The Great Filter." This avant-garde masterpiece, named after Robin Hanson's profound theory, is set to shatter boundaries and redefine the genre with its relentless aggression and captivating dance-friendly beats.

Drawing inspiration from Hanson's "Great Filter" argument, Stoneburner weaves a conceptual web that delves into the enigma of intelligent life and its potential demise. With each track a unique and immersive journey, the EP traverses the realms of human existence, self-destruction, and the haunting implications of an uncertain future.

"The Great Filter" EP continues Stoneburners thundering sonic legacy, building upon the ferocious energy and raw intensity of their acclaimed full-length record, "Apex Predator." Surprisingly, the songs take on an unexpected twist, embracing a more club and dance-friendly aura, while still retaining the quintessential aggression that defines industrial music.

The EP begins with an all out classic industrial assault. "Narcissus" delves into the vanity of others, offering a contemplative observation on the human psyche. The arresting aggressive sounds paint vivid pictures of introspection and self-discovery, inviting listeners to confront their innermost reflections. Emotionally charged and musically enthralling, this track sets the tone for the journey ahead.

Addressing pressing sociopolitical issues, "Fair and Balanced" delivers a pointed take on the experience of being different or advocating for basic human rights in contemporary America. This anthemic track resonates deeply, pushing boundaries both musically and conceptually. The band performed the track on their most recent tour where it was particularly well received.

Venturing further into the abyss, "Hard Crash Necropolis" confronts humanity's potential fate, plunging listeners into a masterfully orchestrated whirlwind of noise and chaos. Emotionally charged and musically enthralling, this track returns to Stoneburners rhythm and noise roots.

The EP then shifts directions with "Corvomancers," thrusting listeners into Steven's visionary world, exploring the chilling narrative of a mass extinction of crow-human hybrid beings. The haunting melody and powerful lyrics leave an indelible mark on the mind.

"Generation Loss" stands as a maudlin and dark reflection on the burdens of life, captivating listeners with its haunting poignancy. The track serves as a powerful reminder of the human struggle and resilience.

The conceptual end of the EP "The Great Filter" surges forth with chaotic pounding and crushing sonic intensity, offering a visceral interpretation of the EP's central theme. A sonic cataclysm.

The EP ends with a wire tight and tense reinterpretation of a Psychedelic furs song titled "The Book of Days." This unexpected bonus shows a different side of Stevens extensive repertoire.

Prepare to immerse yourself in a realm of unparalleled industrial artistry. "The Great Filter" EP by Stoneburner is a tour de force that sets a new standard for the genre. Brace yourself for a seismic sensory experience unlike any other.

"The Great Filter" EP will be digitally available through the renowned record label "Cop International," ensuring a global audience can embrace Steven's mesmerizing vision.

Red In Tooth And Claw
by Stoneburner

Stoneburner - Red in Tooth and Claw

‘RITAC’ tells the story of The World Wolf, a massive wolf god that guides humanity’s development. The story begins with the wolf finding his mate dying after drinking from a polluted river. The betrayal enrages him and he turns on our careless civilization, destroying city after city. After multiple months of chaos, he is visited by the spirit of his mate, Cyan, who points out that all of the killing and destruction is not bringing her back and the only way to end his rampage that will help humanity is by allowing them to kill him. He accepts this as his fate but vows to not make it easy for them. He will not go down without a fight. As his blood pours out and his life comes to an end, she visits him again to help him come to terms with the experience. The moment of his death passes but, to his surprise, his spirit continues, just as Cyan’s did.

This story has reached fruition as a 200+ page graphic novel released by Raw Dog Screaming Press. Written and illustrated by Steven this novel contains over 400 images expounding on ‘RITAC’ and connecting it to the stories on ‘Apex Predator’.

To quote Steven, “It’s the greatest, most developed piece of art I have ever created.”

‘Red in Tooth and Claw’ is both a multimedia Kaiju love story that spans from the end of the universe through the beginning and beyond, and a creation myth for believers in science and philosophy.

Both the book and re-release will be available in August 2024 from Cop International and Raw Dog Screaming Press, respectively.
The first two chapters of the book can be read at:
