This is the second installment of the Schwarz Sektor Saga.
Follow our character "22" from the last album to another world in another time.
This cybernetic instance of Earth is plagued by poverty and death, with only a few mega-cities still thriving... at least High Society thrives, while the rest are forced underground.
The largest city is called The Technostate, a place where the economic divide is at its strongest. Here, many underground sects, or cults, have been warring amongst themselves for what little resources they manage to obtain.
At the heart of The Technostate, lies a Reaktor Core... and one like no other. This Reaktor is made with a peculiar type of tech, one that saps emotional energy to power the city. When there are not enough willing participants, people go missing.
One Underhive Cult Leader, Irwen Ka, has had enough. It's now or never that they come together and resist! He has been having strange dreams of contact with a hivemind at what seems like a facility of some kind. They have given him instructions to build a beacon that will shine and sound throughout the multiverse.
Fast forward a bit, and 22 picks up the signal in his Warpship.
"Let's do this!"
22 arrives in the Technostate just as Irwen Ka has rallied support for a final push against their oppressors, while they still might have a fighting chance. The beacon has been a success. Underhive hackers help get 22 into the mainframe of the Reaktor.
He sees a server path that gives him a bad feeling.
The information is being sent to an old Schwarz Sektor server that shouldn't still be operational.
He digs a little deeper...
It can't be!
Projekt S.A.T.A.N.?!
Direktor T is supposed to be Locked up in Max-Sec!
Let's worry about the task at hand, and the first priority:
Disable the Reaktor!
Back at Schwarz Sektor, Colonel Bassett briefs the rest of Intel and some other high ranking personnel, among them, the Emissary of Sa'aa, the only human to have contact with the Council of Sa'aa Joraakh.
After a successful mission to destroy the piece of tech that allows High Society to hold power over the Underhive, the harsh grip of the rich is no more. The explosion decimated the upper city, leaving a severely crippled military police force to defend it. The battle was costly for the cults, as much blood was shed, but in the end they prevailed.
Sitting down with the survivors, for a feast of High Society's finest eats (even if they were leftovers from the Banquet*) and learning about the prophecy of the cults, 22 hears a familiar key tenet of their beliefs. The Gate of Infinity. The web that holds the multiverse together, the means by which he arrived in the Technostate in the first place.
Wouldn't it be fun to blow Irwen's mind and take him to it, after all this is said and done?
Schwarz Sektor
by Faktion[22]
This album is the start to a storyline that will be explored in further releases. The Schwarz Sektor is a multinational, multi-species (oh yes, there's aliens involved) covert ops organization that operates under the radar of most governments, even.
Follow the main character from first encounter, through a maddening journey, and to the stars.
