Hey there, I’m Vincenzo Salvia, and I’ve embarked on a unique musical odyssey from the mysterious city of Potenza in southern Italy. Now, you might have heard a few stereotypes about us Italians – the passion, the hand gestures, and our never-ending love affair with pizza. Well, let me tell you, there’s more than a hint of truth to those tales!

Imagine a young me, creating beats on my mom’s wooden spoons, as if they were the world’s finest drum set. “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins was my muse, but alas, my poor straw chairs bore the brunt of my musical enthusiasm. We quickly upgraded to wooden chairs and, of course, my very first piano.
At 14, I switched gears to the guitar, serenading the world with rock and metal bands, playing live shows throughout Italy.
In 2004, I fell head over heels for electronic music and embarked on my first solo venture, “Schatten“, which already had a touch of the ’80s – an era we Italians can’t help but adore.
But it was the summer of 2012 when “Voyage“, my first synthwave album, set sail and officially marked my entry into the scene.

By 2017, I had moved to the vibrant city of Milan and embarked on European tours (Berlin, London, Malta). But 2018? That was the year my track “Italian Gigolo” hit the big time, featured in the first episode of Stranger Things 3.
Somewhere along this absolutely unbelievable music journey, I joined forces with some pals to create Sunlover Records, an indie label. We’re cooking up something special!
The path ahead is as wide and diverse as our pizza toppings, and I’m here to be your musical companion. So, tune in to your radio (or hit up Spotify) and enjoy your travel.

As I gazed upon the breathtaking hues of the Mediterranean sunset, a rush of emotions surged within me, reminding me of the profound beauty and serenity of my homeland. "Mediterraneo," a musical tapestry woven with nostalgia, captures the essence of this very moment – a reflection on the concept of home and belonging that goes beyond mere geographical coordinates.

"Mediterraneo" carries within its notes the whispers of laughter shared with loved ones, the fragrance of sun-kissed olive trees, and the echo of waves that have witnessed generations.

Through this music, I invite you to join me on a journey of introspection – to explore the profound question: What is home, truly?

As the saxophone's tender melodies (beautifully performed by the extraordinary Manuel Trabucco) intertwine with the harmonies of electronic synths, let us contemplate the idea that "home" is a sanctuary within ourselves – a safe haven where our souls find solace and connection. "Mediterraneo" is an ode to the universal longing for a place that resonates deeply, where we're free to be our authentic selves.

As the sun sets over the Mediterranean horizon, may "Mediterraneo" remind us that we are, indeed, home wherever our hearts beat in harmony.

The “Cyborg Dream” animation by Fabiola Sangineto is a fascinating project that inspired me to compose a unique soundtrack. The concept of the animation is a dream of a cyborg child encountering technology, and the dualism between human and robotic elements is inspired by Japan, drawing from both ukiyo-e art and cybernetics.
