1994 was a special year for Jim Carey. He delivered three remarkable hits, The Mask, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and Dumb and Dumber, and all the three had their individual cartoon shows. The Mask animated series followed the footsteps of the movie, and once again, the Mask is a distant image of the violent and deranged antihero as we know him to be from the comics. The movie was largely responsible for setting up a definite image for the character, and the animated series simply followed along the same lines. The show also introduced Walter, who was missing from the movie. The animation was vibrant, and this series was just as fun as the movie. It did have an element of originality, and there are some interesting villains to keep things exciting for the viewer.
The story picks up after the events of the movie, and Stanley tries to live a normal life for once. However, the magic mask of Loki has a mind of its own, and soon Stanley is dragged into dangers and adventures that he simply cannot resist.
