Black Tiger Sex Machine, often abbreviated BTSM, are a Canadian electronic music trio based in Montreal, Quebec. The trio are the label heads for Kannibalen Records, which has signed such artists as Kai Wachi, Apashe, Dabin and Lektrique. BTSM specialize in aggressive, dark electronic music, as well as a live show that extends beyond a DJ performance. The trio are Marc Chagnon, Julien Maranda and Patrick Barry. The group wear illuminated tiger helmets during their live shows.

Moonlight begins with a Beethoven-inspired prelude, as Black Tiger Sex Machine reimagine the composer's famous Moonlight Sonata using soft pads, acoustic drums and toned-down 808s. The mood then quickly darkens, and the track plunges into a hellish inferno of synthetic distortion. On screen, the trio pays homage to "A Clockwork Orange", with the opening scene recreating the Korova Milk Bar. The video then follows a trio of Kannibalen-style goth girls on a violent rampage. "Moonlight" is an auditory and visual metaphor for the duality present within BTSM's music, the juxtaposition of rage and beauty, of perversion and purity. It's also a nod to a couple of artists that have profoundly influenced the Canadian trio.
