Next week we will offer a limited amount of Single-Day General Admission tickets for purchase at a tier 1 pricing. Once those are gone, the remaining tickets will be sold at a slightly higher DOS pricing. Once our self-imposed capacity limit is reached, we will halt sales. Day of show purchases MAY be available at a single-digit number at best.

COLD WAVES will adhere to all state and city-wide regulations to allow a fully compliant event for attendees, and organizers will purposely limit the capacity of all venues for the duration of the weekend. As well, fully open doors, an outdoor side-lot with food trucks and seating space, plus access to the all-night Smart Bar “COLD WAVES Lounge” aims to provide patrons a safe, exciting and respectful event.

Finally: a small number of 2020 cash buyers have still yet to contact Metro about a refund. If you are one of these people, please email ask@metrochicago or logan@metrochicago about setting up a time to claim your refund at box office, since staffing there is limited.

Note: VIP ticket buyers from 2020 have almost all chosen to keep and roll over their tickets to 2021, so it is very unlikely there will be new VIP options for this year. So it’s June. We are getting closer and closer to our RE-LAUNCH PARTY. More and more events are being announced (more on that in a minute), and of course we have some news as well.

One of things we hear quite often is how much all of you love and miss the Noise Room, and (surprise?) we miss it too. It’s both one of our long-time signature attractions as well as a super unique experience, and so we decided to dedicate the month of June to the Noise Room.





First up, we have a mix by our long term collaborator DJ Plastic Disease featuring 80 minutes of new music, old music, new versions of old tracks, and even a couple of unreleased exclusives! We are very proud of this mix as it highlights a bunch of modern producers we LOVE doing really fun music that sits right on the fence between Powernoise and Industrial Techno, some deep cut older tracks, a couple modern remixes of classic noise room jams (both the Perc and Leibkenekt remixes are ⚙️‎️‍🔥🔨), and even a track sent to us anonymously by a producer with zero social media. We have also been holding back a merch design for this very occasion, and our LOS ANGELES POWERNOISE MOVEMENT tee celebrates one of LA’s most iconic pieces of brutalist architecture (and is also just around the corner from our beloved Catch One). And we saved the biggest bit of news for last, Das Bunker is returning to its original location for the first time in 21 years, the Que Sera in Long Beach for one night only on Friday August 27th. This party will feature two of our founding DJ’s - FRANCK H-BOMB and RYANT REEL EYES on the decks all night spinning the best in Pre-Y2K industrial, EBM, Dark Elektro, and Rhythmic Noise. Join thousands of attendees coming from all over the the United States (and beyond) to gather in the Southern California desert for a five-day post-apocalyptic festival.  Set up camp at our wasteland compound, surrounded by specially-built sets.  Costumes are required and post-apocalyptic campsites and vehicles are encouraged.  Live for five days in a world pulled straight out of the Mad Max movies and other post-apocalyptic films and games, beyond the grip of so-called civilization.

Wasteland Weekend is an annual festival held in Edwards, California. The event is listed as a full immersion event, with all participants required to adhere to the set theme. It has been held annually in September since 2010, except for 2020, when the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, the 10th-anniversary edition of Wasteland Weekend was held from September 25 to September 29.

The festival includes post-apocalyptic themed costumes, campsites and vehicles, live bands and DJs, fire, burlesque and other performers, and Jugger matches.

The festival will take place on April 14th-16th, 2023 at The Hotel Alba in Tampa, Florida. We highly recommend reserving a room as once you do, you will have 24/7 access to the festival. A GAMER'S PARADISE
One of my favorite features of NEON Retrofest (besides the synthwave music) is the arcade room. The arcade room boasts over 70 vintage arcade cabinets and is featured prominently at NEON Retrofest. While some arcades might be nestled in some remote cramped dark corner, the arcade at NEON takes center stage, quite literally! Last time it was situated directly across from the stage with the only thing separating it was a packed dance floor. You can literally listen to outrun while at the same time playing Outrun! Best of all, everything is free to play! No quarters required.

If you are into vintage console gaming, you’ll be pleased to know that NEON hasn’t forgotten about all the console cowboys. They recently confirmed that the vintage console game room will be returning for 2023. The previous Retrofest featured a vintage gaming room that came complete with couches, EZ chairs and home decor that made it feel like home. I’m sure they will be building on that vibe to make it an even better space to chill and play with friends.

THE AESTHETIC LOUNGE
With all the excitement the festival has to offer, you’re going to need some downtime. Fortunately, NEON has set up the perfect place to relax and chill. The Aesthetic Lounge, formerly the Yacht Rock Lounge, is a great place to unwind. In the past, the lounge had a 70s Yacht Rock vibe, but this time around, it’ll be full on vaporwave. Whether you're meeting up with friends or just taking a breather after a killer synthwave set, plan on lush aesthetics and some great vaporwave to give you a much needed recharge.

THE CULT FILM FESTIVAL
Another popular place to chill is at the Film Festival. That’s right, it's a festival within a festival. NEON can be like one of those Möbius strips that twist onto itself-- but I digress. Here, you can expect the best of the worst that the 80's had to offer, along with a few classic gems as well. Looking for a rest from the synthwave festivities? You can always find a feast of trash cinema at the film festival.

Derision Cult, Cyanotic, Accucrack, Nevada Hardware, Subspace, Roybot, Conn.RAR, Ecto and The Boundless are all playing, there'll be an immersive video/film experience throughout the event and the one and only Joe Bob Briggs - Legend of the Drive In and host of Shudder TV's At the Drive In will be hosting the festivities! Not only that, but we've brought in Food for Thought Catering to create Glitchmode themed appetizers and finger food which will be served throughout the night. Everyone will leave with exclusive goodie bags and all of this (and this is probably my favorite part) is taking place in the historic Mae District! This facility once served as Al Capone's private club and has now been fully renovated into a state of the art prime event location.

You can pick up tickets in 3 versions. There'll be no day-off purchases (we actually need the final headcount 10 days in advance to make sure the chefs and event facility know what to do). Super VIP -which is extremely limited - includes early hang time with all of us and Joe Bob! We're expecting the event to sell out once the film fans get word. Hope to see you there!
