EBM stylish music from Sweden.
Listened much of Sisters of mercy in my younger days.
Love their sound and wanted to create my own sound of that kind of music.
Creds to my past as a member of Telegraph in the 90s.

Photogenique was a synth project consisting of the songwriter/producer couple Jimmie Johansson and Mika Korkeamäki. Their shared interest in old synthesizers and electronic music resulted in their first band Telegraph and the single Nothing on my mind / Telegraphic in 1990 . Together with four other friends (Micke Lönngren, Eva Nyberg, Pelle Johansson, Micke Olsson) they created the Dance/pop project (with the somewhat ironic name) Photogenic in 1994 . Their first single Singing The Blues (We say goodbye) became the leitmotif for the reality show Real World Stockholm , bubbled on radio show Tracks and made it as high as 23rd place on the singles chart. The song was also released in a number of remixes, i.a. a collaboration with producer duo Antiloop . The song also appeared on a number of compilation albums such as Absolute dance etc. Their second single was called This Time and was to be followed up with an album which, however, due to the protracted recording process and disagreements, did not receive an official release.

At this time, Jimmie and Mika were also more interested in the upcoming New wave revival with clear traces of post-punk and synthpop ( Gary Numan , Simple Minds and Visage ). The band had reduced from six members to a duo when, at the request of Jonas Berggren Ace of Base , they performed the Lustans Lakejer-inspired song Nattens Änglar in Melodifestivalen 1997. In connection with participation in Melodifestivalen 1997 they changed their name from Photogenic to the more French-sounding Photogenique. Despite a good audience response and good placements in Swedish daily newspapers' reader polls, they received 0 points from the deciding jury and ended up in a well-known jumbo place. The recorded and planned (second) album Romantikens Rekryter was handled by the record company ( Stockholm Records / Universal Music ) in the future and the project was put on hold.

In 1997, a collaboration was made with the producer team Earthbound on the single Living just for today, which was well received both in Sweden and abroad. The duo's last performance was at the Euro-Pride festival in 1998 under the name NEMO-tech
