I really have not been impressed with FLA after Civilization. However,  Rhys's solo work has been exemplary.

I for one hate to say this but I agree.  I liked some of what was on Echogenetic and the remix album but the last 3 or 4 albums have been blah.

On the other hand the Rhys Fulber releases have been nothing short of pure genius.  We should post some youtubes and more links to his stuff here.

Cheeba City Blues
by Noise Unit

releases October 21, 2022

As one of the most revered side projects in the annals of electro/industrial, the return of Noise Unit in 2021 with the release of Deviator was met with great anticipation and adulation. Now, Bill Leeb has announced a new album under the moniker, further pursuing proto-techno and EBM rhythms with a more melodic and atmospheric sensibility, while also continuing to honor the memory of late friend, bandmate, and veritable electronic genius Jeremy Inkel; with the lush ambient swells and percolating beats of underscoring a mournful yet energetic vocal melody, “Alone Again” features elements first written and recorded by Inkel prior to his untimely passing in January of 2018. The song acts as the first single from the forthcoming Cheeba City Blues, named as an overt reference to William Gibson’s Neuromancer – just as the novel introduced ideas intrinsic to what we now call cyberpunk, Leeb and Inkel explore those facets in auditory form, with Cheeba City Blues due for release on October 21 via Artoffact Records.

WarMech
by Front Line Assembly

Artoffact Records is proud to present Front Line Assembly's all-new soundtrack for Carbon Games' latest creation, WarMech! Head of arsenal Bill Leeb is joined by Jared Slingerland, Sasha Keevill, Craig Johnsen, and the late-great Jeremy Inkel on a tour de force 12-track full-length album that is as much electronic masterpiece as it is game soundtrack gold. WarMech ranges from industrial to ambient to techno, and will blow the minds of fans of the earlier AirMech soundtrack, as well as long-time fans of Front Line Assembly.

The album will be released on double vinyl, including black and greasy-mess versions, as well as a strictly limited (100 copies) Dystopian Future half-half effect version with both brown and yellow. The vinyl comes in a gatefold sleeve designed exclusively by Dave McKean, and you also get a collectable, branded download card. Includes exclusive BONUS material (details below). CD digipak version also available.

AirMech Wastelands expands the AirMech universe through experiencing the journey from a scavenger to a commander in the war against the machines. After global conflict erased countries and borders, automated armies continued their mission by restoring production of WarMechs to finish their directive. Do you flee the advancing threat, or join the fight to put an end to the hidden source of this new assault? Discover parts to improve your collected AirMechs and use abandoned factories to build armies of your own to take down the machines. Join forces with other pilots from the waste for co-operative online play and save humanity!

AirMech
by Front Line Assembly

Carbon Games has signed Front Line Assembly to create an original album for AirMech. The soundtrack is receiving the full studio treatment and will be packaged with exclusive in-game content consisting of FLA band member pilots and a limited edition AirMech designed with input from the band.

"For AirMech, the first thing I thought of was trying to get music that sounded like Front Line Assembly, so then I figured I should at least try and contact the band on the off chance they would be interested in talking with us," says James Green, Game Director at Carbon Games. "I was thrilled when the news came back that they would be interested in working on a game project again."

Front Line Assembly is one of the pioneering bands in the electronic industrial world and continues to be guided by founder Bill Leeb. The AirMech album has been under development since late 2011 in parallel with the progression of the game. Selections of the music will be deconstructed for use as dynamic music, which reacts to conditions during battle. The trademark structure of FLA's music made this collaboration an exciting opportunity for both teams. This album is entirely instrumental, and stands as a compelling FLA album on its own.

"FLA is at it's heart a true indie spirit band, and Carbon's story of how and why we are making AirMech as an independent game developer really struck a chord with them and opened the door to serious discussions about how we could work together, " said Green. "When they started asking about if they could be in the game and have some crazy sonic weapons, I knew it was the start of something really fun. I know we love hearing what they have come up with as much as they enjoy seeing the new stuff we add to the game."
