SPANKTHENUN is a band who works with other bands and artists all over the world. The main output from SPANKTHENUN is by the two core members of the band as well as some regular collaborators. The original focus of the band was to write and play live and not release any music on traditional streaming or physical formats. That changed in 2019 when the focus changed to getting the music out and releasing it through all means possible. This put them in a good position to be very prolific during the lockdown in 2020, including work with legendary industrial icon Claus Larsen on their first single Rotting Meat and two albums The Bunker Tapes VOL I and the brand new release The Bunker Tapes VOL II.

In 2019, the dark electro act, SPANKTHENUN burst onto the scene delivering tracks remixed by industrial heavy weights; Leaether Strip, Angelspit, Assemblage 23, ESA and Slighter and an album mixed and produced by Scott Fox of iVardensphere.

Determined to make their mark, SPANKTHENUN has delivered more than 60 tracks in the last year and shows no signs of slowing down. Less than eight months since the last album, the dark electro artist has delivered a new remix album Glitch Burn Sin and a brand new album of new tracks, THE BUNKER TAPES VOL II, mixed by legendary EBM producer, and immortal badass, Claus Larsen.

As appreciation to the work Claus has contributed to EBM and Industrial over the years, SPANKTHENUN donated all pre-order proceeds from this new album to Claus to help him take care of the love of his life and his medical needs, Kurt.

This the 22nd official release from the band in the last 3 years.

Dallas, TX based SPANKTHENUN create a wholly new vision of one of their favorite tracks from 1990, originally a b-side track released more than 30 years ago. Originally intended as a B-side, this new version comes with several different interpretations that demanded a stand alone release.

Depersonalization-derealization disorder occurs when you persistently or repeatedly have the feeling that you're observing yourself from outside your body or you have a sense that things around you aren't real, or both.

The Grind explores themes of self-doubt, fear and isolation brought on from being trapped in your own world away from other humans. Written during the beginnings of the worldwide pandemic in 2020, this track focuses on the changes many of us went through mentally as we delt with true isolation for the first times in our lives.

"Lock down in quarantine and barely alive... locked down in quarantine and buried alive."

The walls in this little room I now find myself in, cutoff from the outside world, seem to get closer and closer every day. Often, I find it funny how the words "room" and "tomb" sound similar but also find horror in the fact that everyday this room feels more and more like an actual tomb... my final resting place.
